Meet Our Team
Nice to meet you, friend!

Jessica Pezold
Founder & ELA Tutor
I'm Jessica Pezold, founder of J.PEZ Tutoring and a certified English teacher with a Master's Degree in Secondary Education and a background in Mass Communications and Psychology.
I taught public school English/Language arts and ESL (English as a second language) for four years. I have also taught for one year at an English Academy in South Korea. These incredible experiences inspired me to branch out from the confines of a single building to start my own tutoring business.
Currently, I specialize in 6-12th grade English language arts. This includes homeschool students and private and public school students who need help writing essays, comprehending literature, understanding foundations of grammar, and more.
In my spare time, you may find me shooting and editing video with iMovie or hiking with my husband and our dog, Jarvis. Otherwise, I'm curling up on the living room couch with a good book, watching the latest episode of a new Netflix show, or planning the next family adventure.
Pepper Pezold
Math Tutor
My name is Dallas (Pepper) Pezold. I help middle and high school students simplify the learning process of math. A lot of students think that math is hard, but it doesn't have to be as long as you practice a little bit each day.
I help my students by listening to the questions they have and by paying close attention when they tell me, "I'm so confused." When students tutor with me, they realize that math can be made applicable through real world scenarios.
Twelve years of teaching high school math in the public school classroom has shown me that there are common misconceptions of math that need to be debunked. One such misconception that students and parents should eliminate is the idea that some people are born a "math person" or the opposite; they aren't born with a "math mind." Doing math is a skill. It requires using a part of the brain that can easily be honed with practice. I can help build your confidence with middle and high school math and properly prepare you for SAT or ACT tests.

Cali A.
Reading & ELA Tutor
Hi, I'm Cali! I’m a fourth-year Elementary Education student specifically studying the science of reading and writing instruction. I’m also in the process of earning my certification in an endorsement program accredited by the International Dyslexia Association.
I specialize in helping students with decoding (reading) skills, vocabulary, spelling, writing, and reading comprehension. I am passionate about helping students gain confidence in reading, writing, literature study, and so much more. I truly believe that reading is the survival skill of the "Information Age," and it's more important than ever that we support our students in becoming strong readers.
In my free time, I enjoy being creative, writing fairytale retellings, watching movies, refining my at-home barista skills, and spending time with my loved ones.
